Default 1962 G code Ford 406 Tri-Power

!962 G code Ford Galaxie, G code cars were 406 tri-power with 405hp. I bought this car at an estate sale, motor and trans is gone but the son of the deceased says he has the motor and trans. The car only has 35,964 miles, current title is dated 1967. I have looked this car over top to bottom and there is absolutely no rust. The car originally was a 3 speed with overdrive. All the chrome parts need redone but all the stainless is outstanding. The grill is trash. Paint is original but shot. It will need a full resto but what a solid platform on a rare old Ford. $10,000 or might trade.

I should also say that I could be open to a trade as long as it involves a Chevrolet or parts of one. I bought this car because it is a very rare high performance Ford but I am a chevy nut. call if interested 217-620-3405

Yes it was a very different time, even Ward Cleaver smoked. I just realize I didn't show any pictures with the seats in the car. They are actually in decent condition and I did of course vacuum the ash trays before I reinstalled the seats.

That thing is cool! How likely is it to get the motor?

Odds of acquiring the original motor is maybe 50/50. The son who claims to have the motor was talking a mile a minute to us before the auction about it but he was also upset because he claims that the car was supposed to be his when his dad passed and that didn't happen. I don't even want to get in the middle of that family drama. I have his contact information and I thought we should give him a little time and approach the subject, but who knows if the motor is even the original. In short I wouldn't want to count on it but maybe.

To whom ever Tom406 is I owe you a big thanks for copying my ad over to the FordFE forum. I sold it today and it wasn't 10 minutes later another caller contacted me and wants me to call him if buyer number one doesn't come through for any reason. Thanks again

You're welcome! I thought there'd be a more appreciative crowd over there for that particular car and besides, Charley apparently has enough Galaxies in his barn.
