Pardon my ignorance, but why is this only for a small block? I would think the transmission would not care if it were attached to a big block or small block.

Big block rods are longer and have a different off set to compensate for the motor and trans moving forward and to the right, and the shifter bolted to the cross member in the same location(big block&small block)...

the stabilizer rod is also different for SB and BB
