Now this one is cool - a survivor SD with 49,000 miles.

This was the one on youtube a few years ago.

If I only had the cash. This is the one I'd want.

Yeah!

Looks like it has that monsterous 80-amp alternator too. I
had one of those in my '71 Formula 400. I remember having a
hell of a time getting a replacement due to its rarity. That car had every option available. Wish I never sold it.......

This one has an automatic to boot! This car is the cats meow
as far as I'm concerned.

Beautiful!

Nuch

Looks like it sold for $61,000, a bargain if it was a good car up close. I would venture a guess that this was because of the terrible lack of any info in the auction catalog, on the car. I guess if the bank owned them, they did not know enough to put up a decent amount of detail on it.

I did see Charley and Colin there bidding up a storm. Looks like Charlie bought one of the two RAIV 70 Trans Ams at the auction.

The HDTV channel coverage sucked. Every, single car I was interested in seeing was cut away from for the commercial breaks. My bad luck was comical. It got to the point where I thought my wife pulling a practical joke and had somehow rigged the remote control to plug in a commercial whenever one of the good cars came up (like the 73 SD Formula, or the other 70 RAIV T/A). I would call out a lot number to her and she was actually laughing when the number before it would finish and the music would start playing signalling a commercial break.

It was also rather shocking to see the auctioners actually caught on camera saying there were no real bids on certain cars showing the fact that the auction company was calling out phantom bids. Watch the coverage of the 69 T/A convertible that was "bid" up to $1,100,000. The camera was up close on the auctioneer when he leans over to the seller and says no real bids when the guy tried to drop his reserve. I couldn't believe my ears.

BTW, I know it's legal for the auction company to phantom bid as it is in their contractual language to let the auction house bid up to the reserve amount, but it still is a frightening concept if you are an interested prospective bidder.

Steve...from experience I find it better to just watch the live internet broadcast....no commercials, and you'll never miss a car that you're interested in. Also, the coverage on the internet begins when the first car crosses the block...TV starts in the evening during prime time only.
