Seems like I read on a S/S site that 2 individuals bought the first 25 or 30...something crazy like that...and the ones @ Pomona were from those 2 owners. Just FoMoCo getting around the "available to the public" clause and working the NHRA...

Here's the scoop I got from Alex Denysenko:

Brent Hajek purchased the first 10. The next 13 were delivered through Varsity Ford in Michigan.
The remainder are scattered throughout the rest of the dealer network.

BTW, Alex raced the M&M '69 CobraJet in E/SA against the AA/SA CobraJet in Pomona last weekend...

I believe they only matched up in qualifying, and being the old car was in E and the new car was A, the old car got a spot...but Barry Polley was there I believe, and posts here, so maybe I can get him to chime in.

Here's a video of the 2 CobraJets in qualifying:

Rob, I was not in Pomona as John Calvert stated. Make no mistake Ford is back but who can poice them? It is a very Hi Tech Factory Race Car and right now the only police they have is Ford Engineering. They were shutting off at 1000 ft and running teens..... This is a 7-800 hp car no doubt. It will run mid nines by mid summer. I hope GM and Mopar have something up there sleeve. My hat is off to John Calvert and his team on their debut win. I believe there are 4 of them here on the west coast... The one thing that puzzles me is how they got in to A/ and not AA/Stock. I, like others was under the impression that this class was created for the new technology. I see HP and weight in Fords future. Very cool car though.

Barry

Like Barry said, After enough letters and complaints to NHRA they will be slowing them up.
