Default GM and FORD as one???

Heard that GM and Ford had some meetings together this past summer about " working together ". Anybody have more. Given the climate of people buying foreign cars who knows....

Maybe it will have a sweet jingle the way it was in the late 70's when GM was rumored to be teaming up Toyota. I believe they were going to call their first car as a mergered company the "Toylette"!

No to far from the truth. My neighbor is General Manager of Bergey Ford in Springhouse, Pa. He has been telling me the same thing all summer. Remember GM, Ford and Chrysler are NOT the enemy anymore.....it is the foreign competition. I guess different corporations in the US have to join to win.

Feels kind've like Willy C. Durant is back? .
Ironically he and Henry Ford 1 both died the same year, 1947. .
If those two could've had any idea of what's transpiring today they would certainly have completely different views. . Ford would freak and blame it on the Jews...Durant would love it and make sure he'd personally end up w/ the majority of voting shares while everyone else was busy greeding over the dollars. .

If this blasphemous thing ever does actually happen, there'd be world-wide unloading of management by the bucketload also major plant closures as the new GM-F Corp. cuts the fat while joining like operations. .

With the cost of labor here in the USA and our FAIR trade bs i think it will be hard for all of the auto manufacturers to stay alive, the china cars are due in 2007 and i am sure they will be of good quality and low priced, maybe they will put there heads together and fight for there territory.

EXACTLY! Everything today is Global. One World Govt. is also close I believe. When I get upset about all this I just think that the US had probably 150 years of great prosperity and control of the industrial world. I guess it is some other countries turn now. I know in the end when I meet the Lord he is going to tell me not to complain because he gave us (the boomers) the best cars and music the world has ever and will ever see.
