Default Sun Super Tach SST-802

Does anyone know if the SST-802 will work with a GM HEI....

just to confirm with Jason s (SuperNovaSS) reply,..i talked to a guy at Williamsons Instruments and he says that an HEI ignition ,4 pin module, produces a square wave signal as does the GM standard point ignition, so it will work....i mocked an HEI up on my distributor machine and powered the HEI with 12 volts ,hooked the tach up and RPM readings were the same on the SST-802 and the machine......i hope i phrased that correctly..

The one in our Camaro doesn't read right. I still need to figure out how to fix it.

I've yet to find a vintage Sun Super Tach that is happy when hooked to an MSD and they are supposed to have a 12v square wave on the tach lead. I will be interested to see if this worKS for you. Please keep us updated.

Paul, you need the tach adapter with the MSD and a Sun. I use to run a old Super Tach II .

It's a MSD part..any speed shop should be able to get it. Or online??? I think mine uses the 8920??

I agree never have I seen one work properly
