Chevrolet Indianapolis keychain
I found this at a local antique swap. At first I thought it was dealership schwag, but maybe not? Was there an Indianapolis dealership that was just called "Indianapolis Chevrolet" or "Chevrolet Indianapolis"? I'm hoping this may actually be Indianapolis 500 race day schwag. Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks - Andy

That was one of the many items issued by Chevrolet as a souvenir/goodwill item.
In your case,it was done for the Chevy Indianapolis Tuck plant, where their sub-assemblies were made. Although that #1 team logo was used frequently during the 1967 dealership merchandising campaign,it was originally created for Chevrolets Manufacturing & Assembly Dept.,which used it repeatedly throughout their system & plants,up through the 1970's. Neat lil piece, with a tremendous amount of impact behind it. Last edited by Mr70; 10-03-2017 at 10:48 PM. |

Awesome, thanks for the info! I thought it might be a chevy dealership item I could forward to someone that was looking for a dealer piece, like I'm always digging for anything from HC Boyer in PA. But I couldn't find anyone here looking for a dealership named Indianapolis, so this makes a lot of sense.
