Re: 1969 Chevelle SS 396 Convertible Production #s
I don't believe there is any way to come up with a figure of how many of any configuration was built.
There are some guys who extrapolated some figures, but they really are just guesses. There were 9,486 L78 `69 Chevelles, 17,358 L34 `69 Chevelles, and 59,786 L35 `69 Chevelles. There were 8,443 V8 69 Chevelle convertibles built. That's about the best there is out there to work from. |

FWIW, Dan Carr's poster 'guesstimates' that there were ~2100 Chevelle SS396 convertibles made in 69. But, as Rick says, those are just extrapolated numbers, not really accurate figures.

Re: 1969 Chevelle SS 396 Convertible Production #s
In 1969 the Oshawa plant built 787 model 13667 models for Canadian sale, of which 13 had the L34. We also built 521 units of model 13667 for U.S. sale, 15 had the L34, 74 had the L35. That's the best I can do, but if you have one of these we can document it

Those are rarer than Beaumonts, it seems!
Seem to recall there was a controversy whether SD ragtops were built in 1969, but that's neither here nor there. |

Re: 1969 Chevelle SS 396 Convertible Production #s
I will stick my neck out and say the ordering guide offers the Z/25 and L34/L35 only on coupes in the Beaumont range, but I am always willing to be proven wrong. I can find no production numbers for Z/25 Beaumont convertibles, though we did build 488 Beaumont Custom V8 convertibles, and 40 of the 6 cylinder ones. In life we find there are always anomalies and nothing is cast in stone.
