2018.... coming in Hot!!
It's that time of year!! That gym membership you bought at this exact time last year will finally be used for another 2 weeks bringing the total time used over the course of the last year, up to 3 weeks. The Rosetta Stone "Learn German" course, also bought this time last year, may come out of the cellophane package it's still entombed in. And that pile in the junk drawer you said you'd go through and clean out will continue to grow making the drawer that much more harder to open and fully close for months to come.
But, fear not!! Resolutions we all know we will all probably keep are the auto related ones. Yes, the bushes in the front of the house need to be replaced, but so does the forward light harness on your 69 COPO [ahem... I'm looking at you, Phil!]. So what's your plans?? 2018 is a comin', and will be a goin', faster than you think! What's my plans? Here's the list for the Stang-a-Tang broken down into quarters of the year: 1. 1st quarter - build the drivetrain 2. 2nd quarter - finish the Interior 3. 3rd quarter - finish the exterior 4. 4th quarter - head to MCACN....and then run from creditors trying to collect for unpaid parts! And somewhere in there will probably be at least one hospital visit, I'm sure. And of course, all the while, posting progress pics here and hopefully you guys will all do the same with yours!! So what's your auto plans and goals!!?? Cheers Dave Last edited by A12pilot; 12-27-2017 at 01:26 PM. |

Dave,
Great idea to post your car resolutions here. Maybe a little public shame might actually lead to them getting done. Here goes: 1. Quit buying used wheels and tires that I probably won't use. Better yet, quit looking for them. I'm going to run out of room in the basement soon. 2. Quit looking at Chevelles and Camaros that are for-sale. Firebird 400s too. 3. Fix the GTO engine. Ahhh. But it still runs good. 4. Finish that darn detached garage. 5. Replace engine harness on the COPO with NOS harness in basement. But, then the wires look too good??? Maybe a mild day-two?? All that should take about 2 years. These resolutions will be updated in 12 months and will probably look the same. What the heck, all the cars run and drive. Maybe I should get off the computer and go to the garage. That might be the answer. Happy New Year to the Yenko.net crew. Phil Woj. |

I wish 2018 were coming in HOT! I'm sitting in my office right now and it's about 55 degrees. Maybe our facilities people could make some resolutions and fix my heat!
My resolutions are to: 1. Set up my new Mr. Heater Big Maxx garage heater so I can work comfortably in this zero degree weather we're having. 2. Get the top corners of my A pillars where they meet the roof straightened out so I can finally permanently install my windshield. I've been driving it for two summers with it just set in place... 3. Decide what motor is going back in my 69 for summer 2018 and install it. The numbers motor, my 408ci that's a clone of my #s motor or a new motor. 454 etc. 4. Sell my gen 6 494ci & two of my other motors... 5. Clean and organize my bench. It turned into a catch all this year. If I get these things done by Spring, I'll be content... For a while anyhow.

Dave - I installed a propane heater ("Hot Dawg") in my garage a couple years ago and am happy to help if you need it. I posted most of the install in the garage section under "Cholla's Retreat" starting on this page approximately: https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthrea...=134445&page=8

I think the only thing I'm going to really have any trouble with is running the gas line from my big tank. Frozen ground... I might set that up temporarily until I can dig a trench in the spring. I'm also a little nervous with my shingles. They're only four years old, but I'm sure the cold has made them brittle. I should have done this all last year, but I only came across the $259 delivered deal for the heater recently. I just ordered an 80k unit today also for $319.
