Default 1969 350 - 300 hp 4-bolt main motor

Is this a decent buy? I’m thinking this would drop nicely in place of the 307 in my nephew’s 1969 Camaro, but I’m concerned that the fresh paint is all that’s been done to it. Any thoughts after looking at the bottom end?

Deleted from Craigslist. Doesn't look like it's been apart in a while. Doesn't mean anything is wrong, just not a fresh motor. How much did he want for it? Definitely better than a 307!

From what I saw, it was worth $600. Was out of an early LA car. 19L503xxx

Sometimes an engine not touched internally is better than one that has been. Seen a lot of butchery.
Kind of like fresh painted car that has more wrong that can’t be seen, than appears. Most onthis site, I would bet, would rather have a car or engine that has not been touched unless it was done by someone reputable, eh? ( disclaimer: the use of “eh” does not mean I am Canadian, nor Minnesotan, lol?!”

The fresh paint turned me off. If the seller didn’t know anything about the motor, then why put lipstick on it? Thanks for the opinions and feedback.
