Taught my 3 year old how to change the oil...oil smelled a little gassy but looked OK.

We discovered the fuel line was plugged somewhere in the sending unit assembly. I will send that out to be restored. Does anyone have any advice on how to clean the original gas tank? I'm sure it's pretty bad inside.

Take the gas tank to a radiator shop. They will boil it out for $50 or so, its worth it.

Wow, I dropped off of this thread back when there was a bunch of arguing about what it was worth.....nice to see it's found a good home! Congrats Tony.

If you need your fuel tank sending unit restored, I would highly recommend John Wolf & Co. in Willoughby OH. They were recommended to me by someone on this great site, and I was not disappointed.

Thanks guys.

I finally got the dealer emblem installed, just opened up the old holes that had been brazed shut. I like it!

Appreciate the advice on the fuel system. I will be shipping the sending unit to John Wolf & Co this week.
