Default Sun Visor Mounting Bracket Rechrome?

I'm wondering if anyone has had their sun visor mounting brackets rechromed.....curious about whether it's even do-able without disassembling the spring and pivot mechanism, and if so, how pricey a job this would be. I know pot metal is a PITA to rechrome. This is for my 69 Chevelle Post Sedan, I would imagine others are similar. TIA.

bill , yes a real PITA, and not always successful to getting them back together and working correctly////

i would look for some real nice originals - i might have one for u....they are out there for sure.

i used some repop ones and they are amazing nice chome compared to the GM ONES, which u can still buy.

Hi Ed,

Seriously, they are still available from GM??? Wow. I will have to check into that. And I did not know there were repops, although I usually try to avoid repop stuff when possible.

Truth be told, I really only need one.....I did a lot of polishing on mine and one came out reasonably well, the other just has some pitting on the 'arm' of the swiveling part.
