I took apart a BBC engine today that has these markings on the headbolts. If you can use them let me know.

The sizes needed are 3/8 - 16 X 1/2 in length (quantity 12) and 1/4 - 20 x 1/2 in length (quantity 6). The 3/8 bolts are used to secure the removable lower inspection plate on the scattershield and the 1/4 bolts are used to secure the bottom lower edge of the Lakewood scattershield to the corresponding block plate.

What are the sizes and lengths of the bolts you have? My assumption is that they are the wrong size and too long.
