1970/71 Camaro Hurst 3138 Shifter Questions......
Questions on 1970/71 Camaro Hurst 3138 Shifters.....
1 Stamped #'s 0500411C & 0400422P. Is this 1970, 5th Month & 1970, 4th Month ????? _______________________________________ 2 Can these dates be SEEN when installed ? If so are they a Judging Point at Camaro Natl's LEGENDS __________________________________________ 3 I'm thinking Vast Majority of 3138 Shifters in 1970 Camaro were Silver ZINC Plated.....and Gray Phosphate started in 1971. ONLY if you KNOW you have Born With Shifter, Please state your Model Year, Build Date and Shifter Plating Finish _____________________________________________ 4 Are there aftermarket Shifter Rods and Side Cover Arms available for these Hurst/Muncie Shifters Brand/Part # ?? __________________________________________________ 5) Where can I learn, see diagram of how the Handle Inserts into Shifter with the Rubber/Metal piece __________________________________________________ ____ 6 Current selling value of rebuilt 3138 Hurst and Rechromed Handle without Rods OR Complete WITH Rods __________________________________________________ ______ 7 Are the Black Plastic Bushings that Isolate End of Rod(s) where they attach at Shifter (Arms) the Only Correct Parts to Use ? What goes at Transmission End of Shifter Arm ??
