Default Old maco shark add.......

Hello all. This is my first post on this board, though I have been a lurker here and on several other sites for a few years, learning and seeing everything I can about old muscle cars, and in this case, chevy super cars.

It is apparent that real Maco sharks done by Motion are far and few between, so the first question I have is if Motion was the only shop to sell maco shark fiberglass panels and such? If so, I think I have found a very old add containing either a motion-modified corvette, or just a corvette with maco shark glass added to it. The add is from the January 1981 edition of HOT ROD magazine, in the classifieds, or ' HR Mart ' section. All the information included in the add will be in the picture I have attached....

....And this is the third time I have attempted to attach it, with no luck. Seems the file is too large and I cant figure out how to make the file smaller. Anyone I can send this to so they can post it? I'm wondering if this car still exists.

Welcome to the site James. It is always nice to have some new blood on board let alone some young blood to keep these old geezers in line. Stick around, you will never be bored and there is always a ton of new stuff to learn.

Thanks for the help. If I made it a bit too small I can give it another go, I think I've figured out how to do it right.

James, if I recall correctly, Motion offered a "Maco" shark and a gentleman named Silva marketed a "Mako" shark (I may have it backwards).

------You are correct, Z15, John Silva up in Boston developed the Maco package and Motion put it to good use. I went to Johns shop back in the day more than once. It wasnt the cleanest place I ever visited, but Corvette body shops rarely are. Dont know if John is still around or not. I have often wondered if JR sent the Vettes to John for the work or if a local guy in the New York area did the work. Maybe John did the 1st one??? Then Motion took it from there??? Anybody know???........Bill S

That car sounds like the one that is owned by John Shaw now...

You can read a little bit about the history of the Silva/Motion Maco here...

David, thanks for those links. Required reading for all.
The ad below clearly maintains the SILVA/Motion connection
