I've been looking for the Gold & Blue Seal-Ribbon which is a foil over paper sticker (as mentioned above). I had contacted TM a while ago with no answer. From some bars that I've seen for sale, it appears the foil "Seal of Performance" is the earlier (early to late '60s?). I've seen a set of bolt-on at the rear spring plate (3-point) with the foil seal vs. a weld-on set that had the yellow & blue sticker. The Weld-on set was a '67+ application. There does appear to be some overlap which makes it confusing. Would like to get one foil sticker (they only put it on one bar). Some of their ads/decals say "with Gold Seal".

Paul,

The weld on bars that I have are a 1969 vintage and apparently had the "Gold & Blue Seal- Ribbon - "Seal of Performance" sticker. You are correct it is somewhat confusing.

Paul,

Do you have a clear and complete picture of the "Star Burst" / "Gold & Blue Seal-Ribbon"?

Dave,

This is the best I have. The lower part of the ribbon is not shown. Saved from a set I saw online.

Another question is when did they change the tube colors from Silver to Black? The end brackets (at least the rear) are painted copper. My set, from what I can tell, looks to have one of each. I prefer the black look. Thinking they were black by '65-'66(?).

Paul,

The "Star Burst"/"Gold & Blue Seal-Ribbon" decal that you posted is exactly like the one I have on my 69 Camaro bars. The decals on my bars are not very visible anymore. Not even good enough to use as a template, as parts of the decal are no longer and the foil face did not stand up well against the test of time. It would be nice to find NOS decals or at least high end reproductions.

My bars were black in colour under the decal. There were nicks on the bars exposing bare metal not a silver colour and the end brackets were black not copper in colour. As a result I power coated them black.

I have seen other bars from the same period mounted on a 1968 camaro and the bars were black with copper colour end brackets with no decal. Steve’s bars that were posted are 1968 vintage with black bars with copper end brackets as well.

Traction Master might have changed colour of the bars/end brackets and decal design in the 68/69 year. Perhaps Traction Master Co. can shed some light on the question. I tried to reach out to them without any success.

Did you ever get a response from them?

Dave

No return response from them. Need to contact again. My sticker is in the same shape as yours.

I've seen new '65 bars in silver with this foil sticker and '68 bars in black with either sticker. All have only one T-M sticker and believe it's on the right side bar (of bars that are built/marked per side).

Let me know if you run across a source.

Thanks, Paul

Locating the "Star Burst"/"Gold & Blue Seal-Ribbon" decal is becoming a challenge.
