Default Motion L88 Hoods

Did the Motion L88 hoods have molded holes for the hood pins or were they drilled upon installation.?.

I have a what I believe is a 1st gen Camaro Motion L88 hood
The top and bottom look like the others I have seen

It definitely has some type of metal thread inserts molded in to the fiberglass.
I can see rust on the 3/8-16 threads.
I can't tell how large of an insert is there since all that is visible is the threaded holes with the fiberglass covering the surface.

I would think it is larger then a standard nut , probably a piece of steel flat stock with a threaded hole

Ive posted pics in the past of the hood I have and I am curious of its origin. It has the molded holes for the pins and has the steel inserts molded in the glass. One has actually come loose and Im pretty sure that is what damage the hood. I am working on getting it fixed, painted and will hopefully be installing it on the 67 with the fly eye air cleaner.. I can see what looks like a yellowish white finish on the underside below the black paint.. Pretty sure its not an original Motion hood but definitely old..

Pretty cool old piece there D.
I would like to know what hood pins are correct for a Camaro of that period? and where are they located normally? I would think in the holes where the bumpers in the core support are,? The location of those in your L88 hood have me questioning the exact correct location. I have a pr of 1/2 in. and somewhere (can't find) a pr. of 3/8 in. Which , again would be most accurate for a 1st Gen. Camaro? My instincts say 3/8"?

Location on this car (granted not the L88 hood are at the bumpers.. This hood of mine are further inboard. First 2 measurements are the passenger side hole and the other 2 are driver side, followed by the hole dia.

Now Im do not know the exact history of this car but I think it was ordered along with a 69 Chevelle for a guy in Mexico.. Not sure when he purchased it though..

You also have this 68 with the L88 hood. Again I do not know the history outside of what is mentioned on Mecum site when it was for sale in 2016.

yes the L88 hood was used on some 69 Camaro Motion builds

that 68 Motion car had the hood added to replace its first glass hood
