'68 RS Z/28, #s car, 4.56 gear
Neat car, price is a little steep for the condition IMO but pretty rare. What do you guys think of the engine stamp?

That sure looks like a purposely obliterated VIN # on that block.

I sold that car last Dec. without the original motor or rear. It did have the original trans, no documentation.

I agree w/ MJ and block pad appears intentionally obliterated so axle tube stamping questionable too. Is this subject VIN 124378N417189 ? ~ Pete .

Kurt can you elaborate on what you know about the pad ? Also Bob knows the pads were not painted and he rebuilt the engine. Maybe the block was a orphan that got re united ?
