Default New project into the shop. 1967 shelby!

I just took in a 67 Shelby into the shop for some work. When I first agreed to the job all I was just going to do was replace the rear floor pans. Then the shifter tunnel was all cut up and patched from a previous shifter install. Both toe boards needed to be replaced, due to a bad seam in the wheel well. Well I ended up replacing both torque box extensions toe boards and a complete 1 piece floor. We also found that the rear pass spring must have failed at some point and ripped the frame rail. It’s was all twisted and kinked in a couple spots. When this happened we can see some visual damage to the quarter and inner wheel well. So a full passenger frame rail will be installed along with new outer wheel wells and quarters. Then back to its original color blue. This will keep me busy for a while.

Good morning,

I was wondering if you guys could help me out with something with this Shelby. I just finished welding up the quarters and was wondering if the trunk gasket was supposed to be glued to the trunk lid or to the edge of the quarters around the trunk opening. It was glued to the trunk lid but in the wrong place creating the trunk lid to fit awful. I was able to get the trunk to fit nice with just laying the old gasket on quarters around opening. Just wondering which is correct. The owner said it should be glued to the trunk lid?

Thanks Jason

Latest updates on the 67 Shelby. I replaced both outer wheel wells and quarters. The roof skin was also replaced. Epoxy primed, high build primer and just put some color on the real tail panel. Spending a lot of time on the trunk lid and rear quarter extensions they fit awful from Shelby. Britany blue with white stripes it is!
