Default 1970 LS6 eBay - Thoughts?

Hi,

Does anyone know anything about this car? Any thoughts / opinions? No bids on it...?? It can't be just the general poor market right now is it? I mean there are deals like crazy right now for sure marquee wide but I thought these cars would be a little more immune.

I am in the market for an LS6 right now but am terrified of what has happened to my hobby (undisclosed clones, re-tags, stamp jobs etc.). This car looks legit, build sheet (while tattered, not a problem) seems fine, it shows the VIN and LS6. The ad is weak I know (hose clamp discussion, oil gauge explanation, LS6 pontification etc.) but it's not the worst I have seen.

Thanks,

Marc

Lets see the vin stamp on the motor. Is the motor the orig one born with? Year one NOS parts?? What carb is on it? Does it have its orig. 619 accelerator bracket for the LS6 and not the L78 one.(orig). Just that confirmation will tell you a lot about if the car has its orig parts. How about the fuel line bracket (orig one)hOw about the alternator what does the stamp look like and what date
is on the alt.Rear end stamp Pics??Trany numbers.
What was done to the car as far as the resto.
Nice lookin car. Needs a lot more explained before bidding.

BS looks like a photo copy. Confirm original is available.

All,

Thanks for the input so far, I appreciate it:

1) BS - Agreed, likely photocopied to facilitate putting into the plastic sheet / binder but nevertheless, definitely need to confirm the original, good point.

2) Market - I guess it's bad... I didn't think the high dollar cars would be affected as bad.

3) Year One / Brackets / Alt - Pretty sure this is a YO resto (not terribly bad looking parts for the generic show and shines but not NOS or excellent correct used etc.), no offense intended, I have done my share of them and they have their place (driver cars, mom and pop car shows etc.) so I will check on that stuff but am expecting the worst (for the starting bid price of the car) and that's fine if the price is right.

No bids though... still something not right.

Marc

Marc...Here's my first thought when I looked at the engine compartment. Why do people restore them to what they call "original" and leave off the A.I.R. parts? It makes me wonder about everthing else they didn't do.
That's a great color. Ask the guys at www.chevelles.com about the car. Someone there may know the car or be close enough to have a look at it. If you aren't familiar with Team Chevelle, I will post it for you.

He definitely needed to take pics in the daylight, can't tell much about the paint in those pics. Plus darkness doesn't do Fathom Blue justice. Too many repop parts for what should be a high-dollar car. I love the cheap parts store radiator cap If you can get it cheap for a nice driver or have the money to gradually make it more correct w/NOS parts it wouldn't be too bad.
