I really like the Mecum Auctions - they attract a lot of great cars & they put on a great show. IMO - all "no sales" at "reserve auctions" leave us with no data as to where the "real money" was. I quit keeping track of "no sale" final bid $. IMO - it's only a useful data point in trying to figure out the sellers reserve - not to figure out where the buyers value the car.

That's my take - guys like Charlie are the real auction pros though.

The subject of this thread - maybe wasn't a documented converted car?

I saw Mecum actually did a special report on this car. Interesting that it was reported here that a 68 Yenko recently sold for over 600k... was that a real sale? Why did this car not bid higher?

The one that bid to 175 is Gary Holubs car that he has had for a long time. Looking at the gloss red paint on the underside of the hood and the rear antenna location makes me think it is not restored to the standards that we demand now. I’m sure the restoration looked good by the standards we had when it was done.

It had a '69 512 block in it when Ed inspected it.

What about the ls6 convert. that car is real, and fully resored and did 160K.....on the flip side a 67 435 coupe does almost 600K which is about 3/4 times what a ncrs convertible is doing right now. 100 point car, I get it, but........

The black Corvette coupe was very nice. Original engine, real paperwork, and documented sidepipe car. It has many judging awards and finally hit 100% at the San Antonio Nationals last year. Actually two '67's achieved that score. That's quite a bit of money.
