Default George Weis' 69 COPO Camaro

In the April 1984 issue of Super Chevy there is a feature on George Weis' 69 COPO Camaro. At the time he was the second owner and had purchased it from the original owner in May of 1970. The car was sold new through L.B. Hartman Chevrolet in Salamanca NY and was Daytona Yellow with an automatic transmission and no radio. At the time of the feature the car was unrestored with just over 20K miles and still had it's original drivetrain. The owner had added a RS grill and fender emblems, Center Lines, a chrome roll bar, a B&M shifter and headers. Has anybody on here ever seen this Camaro or know if it is still around? I assume it's a real COPO car, but it's hard to tell from looking at black and white photos.

I saw the post about my 1969 copo camaro and it is still in my home town of St. Marys, Pa. and is still very low mileage. The person that bought the car from me still owens it.

George thanks for posting. It's good to know your old Camaro is still around. If you have any recent photos of your old car it would be neat to see them.

Had many Straub's in the past as it was my brother-in-law's favorite beer. Never went to the brewery, but I was told that locals had their own mugs on the wall of the taproom, and could come in anytime and "fill 'er up" for free.
I also went to Pitt with Darrell Stackpole from St. Mary's Stackpole Carbon. One crazy dude, but he probably settled down and got the reins to the company.
