Is the Morrison VIN known or still kept under wraps by the title holder?
Obviously no chance of gaining Vins running old plates in CA right?

In the Petty junkyard pic note the 64/65 Barracuda in the background.
Sad story but that's gotta be the drag car he never drove again after the tragic off track accident.

Pete, I think the vin can be gotten. From what I know the Blue Lady was involved in 3 prior accidents and on a trip to a show at the whiskey a go go, a telephone pole on Sunset Blvd got in the way. He walked away from the accident and walked to the show. After the show, he returned to the scene and the Blue Lady was gone. Also some said it was left at an airport parking lot when he left for a tour and never picked up. I think the pole at Sunset is what really happened. Although never a materialistic person, he did like this car as it was a present from Electra Records in 67 and he was proud of it....maybe he was a real car guy at heart! I know it's been awhile but someone knew what that car was and perhaps tucked it away.....hint hint CLill. It would be awesome to see that one show up.

Your recollection is acurate. Here is a link to Brett's site. He is the king of unearthing old Shelbys and this one is his pet.Everyone at SAAC is waiting for the day the mystery is solved. It would be a special car but most feel the Bullitt car is the top prize. The guy who currently owns it must understand he can't take it with him but just will not let anyone see it aside with the proof he already submitted. Shame really

Kerry....tks to the link on Brett's site. I am glad to read that as the info I have on this car goes back to the early 80's and that kind of backs up everything that I know or have heard. I dont think it went to a crusher as the damage was not all that bad, mostly front end stuff...after all, he did walk away to the Whiskey. I think it is cool to see a guy like him having some fun and driving hard, although perhaps to hard but hey it was the 60's, right? Anyway I do think it's still out there and I hope it shows up. When you write about the guy who currently owns it, are you referring to the Bullit car or the Blue Lady?

Tom you are welcome. Sorry I switched gears in the last long sentence. The "guy" was reference to the Bullitt car. It would be great if Jim's old car was tucked away. Perhaps this lady with the mystery call has it.
