Buick should have a SJ metal tag.

Donnie,

The reason I said the code is BJ, is that is what is listed on this build sheet for a 69 Chevelle L78 with auto trans. See below:

This is a known low mile original survivor car. I deleted the VIN intentionally. The car is real with less than 5K on the odometer.

This is the second L78 auto 69 Chevelle with the BJ rad code that I know of. I can't guarantee the radiator tank codes at this point. What I mentioned earlier was based on the ebay auction for that tag. I know the IA tank code is good, not 100% on the trans cooler side of the rad. Jim, do you have a 3 core 69 BB auto trans rad to shed some light on the tank codes?

If I'm reading the date right, that's a later 69 L78. So probably a running change.

Interesting. I've seen a BJ tag with IA and XI tanks and 16 core code.
At least the second time I've seen conflicting tags.

In the for-what-it-is-worth-file, a friend of mine's 69 Chevelle, L78/automatic built in January of 1969 also had the "BJ" radiator code on his build sheet.

Since there seems to be a lot of knowledgeable radiator fellas here can you tell me what an “AG”stamp on the fill side & “IA” stamp on the left side means with a 26.5” wide core would fit ...

Thanks Rob

I've seen it before. It had a broadcast code of RP (could vary depending on the core). No idea on the application.
