Default 67 Impala SS - Horn- Is this factory installed??

I recently picked up this survivor 67 Impala SS. It's a mint, one owner original 396 car with 25K original miles. While I was going over it I assumed that the "auxiliary" horn is an aftermarket piece. Now I am not so sure, as it has a correct color coded "jumper" harness that ties into the regular dual horns and the terminal ends are all original style. Also the way it mounts to the inner fender is really not typical of anything aftermarket. I am admittedly a Mopar specialist and am not fully tuned in on all of the variations, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

MB

See att for the pic of the horn.

Where are you in Jersey? That horn was added and is not factory. The 67 came with standard dual Highnote/Lownote horns attached to the inner fender near the windshield wiper bottle BUT.....did have the optional THIRD HORN that was mounted just below the other two. Looks like a nice car. As you can see...I'm partial to the big car too!

Check the numbers on the horn. Those were typically options on Buicks (particularly 63-65 Rivieras) and Cadillacs and can be worth a surprising amount of coin.

Thanks for the replies..

I restore/build cars for a living and this thing puzzles me.. If you look at the mounting brackets and the hardware, it looks 100% like a factory installation. Even the subharness to the third horn just piggybacks the original dual horns and definitely looks factory.

The car is a near perfect original with an absolutely 100% original interior. This car drives unlike anything I have had at the shop in a long time. Actually feels quite a bit like my old 69 GP 428SJ 4 speed. I will never live down selling that car.

Perhaps a GM dealer accessory that was available in 67??
