----Bob Hamilton's (original owner of Red Alert) Poppy Red 65 Mustang fastback was picked out at Larsen Ford to be taken to Holman Moody. It was then converted to a 427 race car. One of 11 that finally got a OHC 427. Car was called Long Gone and did very well for itself. Years later it was restored by Boyd Coddington and there was a nasty lawsuit over ownership......Bill S

----Yes, and that's 6'5" Bob behind the wheel! Bob actually preferred the standard 427 that all 11 cars were delivered with because he knew those engines so well. Ford, however, made all the racers switch to the OHC engines or their factory backing would be terminated. Bobs car ended up with injection thru the hood, Hilborn I believe......Bill S
