Fuel systems are easy to "over engineer".
Remember the factory ran good old AC Delco mechanical pumps that fed 780 Holleys on top of 302's, 350's, 396's, 427's and 454's...if the tank pickup is ok and the fuel line is 3/8' front to back...with stock in the carb filers...there shouldn't be an issue. You could be experiencing some vapor lock...gas cap vented? or not? I would start at the back and work forward... wilma
