Default 1969 cowl tag

I have seen several cowl tags on 1969 cars that are natural and I have seen some that are painted.
Is natural correct or painted correct?

I am not aware of any GM vehicles from the 60's or 70's that came from the factory with an unpainted TT, but I will defer to others that know otherwise.

Same here. Never saw an unpainted '69 body tag.

All painted from the factory and in 67 Norwood cars were sprayed white.

Some, not all, '67 Norwood tags are white. A few very early '68s were also.

Actually I do know that my 1965 GTO tri power convertible built in California had the trim tag taped off from the factory when they painted the firewall. This GTO is All original from the factory.
I will try to attach a picture.

Seems that both trim tags I posted are on original cars ........

Pontiacs built in Fremont in the '64/'65 model year came with unpainted cowl tags. They were taped off.

All other assembly locations building Pontiacs painted them the same color as the cowl or firewall.

St Louis and Southgate were two plants that taped off the cowl tags while the firewall was sprayed. This practice stopped after 66 or 67.

Isn't there some of the original Garnet Red still on that tag?

That tag looks to have been painted and cleaned off to me.
