Re: G.O. Bowl 2017
The guy two shops down from me has this shop. Really a cool mancave! These two below are of my shop. And here's the proud winners!!!! I never expected that they would be such a hot commodity, but we had several recounts due to conspiracy and riggin' of the election when it came to the "Ladies Choice" award. Last year's winner won it again this year, but he still thinks it's HIM who chooses a lady as his award After he was told what that award actually meant, and his wife smacked him in the head, he was a little disappointed but gladly accepted the award....and avoided a pricey divorce! Mark, the guy on the left, is the host of the show and he won Hottest Hauler for his 1956 Greyhound Bus. Jeff is next, and he won the Ladies Choice with his Audi R8. Mike is beside him who won the People's Choice award for his 1969 Camaro RS/SS. And the Coolest Cruiser was a gorgeous 59 Corvette. Incidentally, the gent who won the People's Choice wasn't even going to come out since he commented to a friend of mine,"I never win anything, but it's still fun!" A well deserved award!!!! Hope you enjoyed our little show! Cheers Dave |

Re: G.O. Bowl 2017
That's really cool Dave. Is that like a condo where you own your own garage, or is it a rental situation? Sorry if I missed where you stated that already.

Re: G.O. Bowl 2017
Thanks, guys!!! Mark, yes, it's a garage condo place and everyone owns their own unit. Various sizes, and the complex sold out as soon as it was built. Each unit is insulated, heat and A/C, and plenty of outlets. For a lot of guys it's a hang out, but there are the grunts in here (like me! ) that do some more intricate work. So, basically, as the afternoon air is filled with grilled brats and ribs along with some classic rock playing in the background, my shop interrupts it with the smell of PPG Base Coat and Rage Gold fumes complimented by a whole lot of "Dern Fragganaguc stupid ratsafrat!!! BAaaaAAAaaaaaahhhhhh!" and various other profanities wafting through the air
Cheers Dave |

Re: G.O. Bowl 2017
Dave
Those garages are cool they have similar ones here in Detroit that are located next to a race track! Curious with all the ones you have seen what is the flooring of choice? Wondered what looks the best, durable and cost effective. Appreciate any thoughts |

Re: G.O. Bowl 2017
Looks like most that want the best protection go with the heavy duty epoxy coating with anti-slip chips. Some have the Race Deck stuff, but those guys all say that if they could go back they'd do the epoxy stuff. And hire a professional to do it....don't do the Home Depot or U-Coat It route if you want it to last under very hard use. You do get what you pay for.
Hope that helps! Cheers Dave |
