Not sure about the length (mine are in a zip-lok bag somewhere in the shop) but the style of the darker one with the unthreaded narrower diameter portion at the top is correct.
The shorter one may be long enough as a carb-to-intake stud, but reminds me more of the air cleaner wing nut stud.....

FWIW Part # 3967475 1970/71 for solid lifter application 5/16 -18-24x1 55/64, 1969 should be the same.
These 4 studs came off a cast iron intake the size is 5/16 -18-24x1 11/16 and correspond to Part#3959570 1968/71 all v8 eng. & 1964/66 all with 283/250,275 or 350 hp 327 and 396. Last edited by MarcDant; 12-16-2017 at 03:18 PM. Reason: extra digit, add pic. |

My untouched LS6 Big Block intake #3963569 that I have in the For Sale Section had the original studs that I removed and they measure 1 7/8 long. I removed them thinking they were the same as the 67-69 302 Z28 studs, but they were not. The Z28 are shorter and measured at 1 1/2, however they are identical in appearance. The stud on the left is off the LS6 intake and the one on the right is off my 67 Z28. Notice they they both have a dimple on the bottom side. Also the Z28 stud still has remanence of gold cadmium plating.

A friend of mine sent me this picture of original 69 Z/28 carburetor studs a few weeks ago. From his survivor RS Z with the fuel line bracket still intact. I don't know why but these fuel line brackets are rarely ever seen. I haven't seen more than two of them intact? Made by same company who did the bracket for the brake booster hose on the opposite side of the intake,

Mike T's Car (RSZMJT) which is an 06A Norwood Canadian Docs RS Z/28. He's the second owner and has had it since the mid seventies. Unmolested and has around 47K for mileage if my memory is still intact.
