Default 69-70 SS Wheel Colors

Is there a difference in the wheel colors between a 69 & 70 SS wheels, also does anyone have the correct paint codes for the colors?

There is a long standing debate for the '70 wheels, but I believe it's common acceptance that the '69 wheels were the dark gray inserts, argent spokes/ring, and 'dove' gray on the back - any opposing opinions?

Not from me. I have had almost brand new spares in my posession and some were charcoal grey while others were almost black. We always paint ours dark charcoal grey just so we can have people come argue with us.....

I agree with you, some of the '70's are so dark that they are 'black'. I tell Deuce guys to go with what they found on their wheels, if they don't have their original wheels - then..... be ready to defend themselves!

Which one? (My 'charcoal' one, or my 'black' one)

No opposing opinion from me, either

I'd have to say that most of the original 69 SS wheels that I have had, have more of a black inset than dark gray. Otherwise argent silver for the spokes and dark gray for the backs.

My last set of SS wheels that I repainted, I used a chrome silver (wheel paint (which looks like a flash chrome finish)) for the spokes and a semi-flat black for the inset. Since few can agree on the absolute original colors, I did them with the colors I like best. The wheels turned out great.
