'62 Biscayne 409/409/4-sp Clone, Very Nice, Black/Red

Obviously a 6-cyl car from the factory (211xx VIN) but it's the right color combo with the right drivetrain. Would love to own this beast.

Definitely some corners cut but the price reflects that. It also reaffirms my long-held theory that certain plants catered to certain models when it comes to these full-size cars. There seems to be an abundance of Kansas City-assembled Biscaynes.

Not near the income level in the Midwest as the coasts back then. People wanted cheap transportation.
My '62 SS was built in Janesville, closer to the money in the Windy City.

I've noticed the same thing with LA built first gen Camaros. Many of them have more options than the Norwood cars. My LA built '67 has the fold down rear seat. It's a rather rare option to begin with, but I see very few of them on Norwood tags.

I haven't recorded anything BUT Sedans built at Kansas City in '62. Biscaynes, Belairs & Impalas, but all Sedans. (and no wagons)
