Default Yenkos racing

A nice day in the Ozarks so Rob and I decided to head to Rogersville for a day of TNT. Rob was in the Yellow sub, working on putting some run time on the new engine, and work out a few bugs.

I took the Deuce to see what she would do in the 1/4 with the new found power.

First pass netted a 10.63, with a soft 60' (track was really slick). Second pass the Deuce got even less bite, moving all over the track, even so, a 10.38 @ 125.00mph. On a good track, little doubt low 10s.

Yep…new block.

Started out with a high RPM miss, fixed that by switching coils. In the ball park, but now down to lots of track time and tuning, figuring out what timing, jetting, valve settings, etc this motor likes.

Forecast for the rest of November looks pretty good. Maybe you can get a few more TnT days before the snow flies.

Good to see Ol' Yeller back on the track.

Rob and I went to Memphis Wednesday for their last TNT of the season. After running a personal best 10.38 @ 125 MPH at Rogersville, I was wanting to see if I could get into the 10.20s. The night started off wild, as I left at my usual 5600RPM, the Deuce all but stood on its rear bumper, with a great 60’, but got out of the groove, so I had to lift. The next few passes I decided to leave a little easier, first at 4600RPM then upping a couple of hundred each pass. I was able to run a 10.346 @ 126.19 then a 10.314 @ 126.36 so I was close, but then as happens at Memphis, the fog moved in, making the track a little slippery, so that was it for the night. I think 10.20s are doable, but the MPH may not get much higher, as the little SBC is really turning some RPMS at the stripe (5.13gear).

Unfortunately it looks like racing is over in this part of the world, so will have to wait until spring to what the Deuce is capable of.

Glad to see the Yellow car running again Rob.... Tom, Sounds Like 10.20s are easily do-able for the little Duece with a good hook and air.
