If anyone threatened to punch me in the face for attempting any part of a restoration because it wasn't up to their standards, they'd be choaking on their nuts.

He's not insulting the owner, he's referring to the installer of the glass. Sadly, most glass people out there don't know or care how to install old glass and do not use the right material to do it. i.e. The correct thickness butyl tape instead of urethane sealer from a tube.

Well Steve, it's fairly common for owners to install their own glass. That's where they get a pass, because it's their car and they stuck their neck out to tackle a job, correct or incorrect, but they did it themselves. It's also fairly common to use butyl tape but it's incorrect. That's another argument that's been discussed all too often. What I won't stand for is the blowhard mentality that constantly comes from a certain individual that claims to know far more than he actually does.

Hey Jer,

My comment is strictly a passion driven comment.....that comes from with-in me, as I love these cars so much....it kills me when someone does a poor job at the task at hand.

If you claim to know me as you imply that yo do....come out of the shadows and expose yourself.

I have big boy pants....I have called glass installers worse things over the years, as it is very difficult to find a good glass installer.

Dan

Not in the shadows as YOU imply. I actually tried to log in the first time as cheveslakr but misunderstood the prompter and started typing in my name and then for whatever reason hit enter midway through. This site wouldn't allow me to change it with the same email used. So here I am. I don't ever "call people out" but it does seem you need a little taste of humble pie. I will say that you should sit back and read your posts and ask yourself how it may be interpreted from the reader's perspective. This is a luxury we have before we click "send", unlike when we speak. You neglect this option far too often. You should thank me for stopping here.

Jerry
