Thanks! I bought those wheelcovers NOS-in-boxes at my local Chevy dealer (Bill Nelson in Richmond, CA) in 1980 to run on my first '67. A buddy kept them all these years and I got them back a year ago and snapped them on the L35.

Lynn the 110LL at the local airport is Leaded 110 octane aviation fuel, should be the same thing as the Sunoco... I used to drive my vette out on the tarmac and fill it up, it was cheaper than buying it at the gas station as there were no road taxes on it.

I can buy it at the local airport. Open 24 hours and can swipe a cc. No price posted. I just have to enter how many gallons I want (makes it impossible to fill up). However, it is never quite double for what I would have paid locally for 91 premium, meaning right now, it is pretty darn cheap for racing gas.

I am guessing the stuff at the Sunoco stations is also free of road taxes since it is specified as "off road" use only.

Question: Does using an aviation 100-110LL do any harm to an engine's component parts? After all, aren't most engines made to properly run on no-lead fuel?

Long term would cause problems for anything with an 02 sensor and or cats.

Most of the cars we are talking about don't have either.

I've been getting my 110 Sunoco leaded at Feece Oil Co in Batavia. Bring your 5 gallon can and they take you into the shop and manually pump it out of the drum.

I have heard the AV gas is dryer fuel than real race gas & hard on valve seats ....
In my opinion if you can afford to have a car that needs race gas just buy the good gas ...

Stopped at a local station after a car show in the area. These guys sell several different grades of racing fuel so I had them pump in 10 gallons of 114 leaded.
