Adding another comment, Do the manual steering boxes from a nova have an additional mounting tab than the camaro's? Also do they typically have a cast cover or aluminum? hoping for pictures or advice on this one. Thank you to all in advance. I am assuming the casting 5679142 is the correct manual steering box?

Pretty sure the 69 box will have an aluminum top cover, and the 68's were the last year for the iron top. Not sure if possibly some early built 69's might have an iron top.

Thanks Rick, been having a lot of discussions on this. I have had a few people tell me there originals have 3 mounting ears that bolt up to the cars frame, and even one manual steering with 4 mounting ears. i have a late 68 build on my 69. So id assume a aluminum cover.

Mark:
Just to be clear, the box I told you about with the fourth mounting ear came off of a 1970 Nova, build Sept. 69. I do not know if it was original to the car. I removed it in the late 90's.

I have 2 with that casting number. Where do I find the date? The machined surface next to the cover has A0790 on one and A1759 on the other. These are both 3 ear boxes. Let me know and I'll try to find the date codes.

Those are the date codes, A 79th day of 1970, and 175th day of 1969. thanks for checking out of my range. found one but they want a premium of $250 and still needs to be restored.
