I believe that was right after my Dad bought his 67 from Richard. Neat times for sure. I remember as a 8-10 year old kid walking around the shop and showroom and even though I had absolutely no appreciation for what those cars were at the time in terms of rarity and collectability I knew it was a cool place to hang out. Fast forward to 1986 - the summer I worked there - and there were practically no Corvettes or Musclecars around anymore, mostly just the AMG stuff by then - but still a neat place with great memories for me.

Thanks, I'd been told that too. My car was delivered to Clippinger Chevrolet in Covina early April 69 but not sold until late June so I'm hopeful that it may've been listed for sale in a local ad during those couple of months sitting on the lot.

Default Old Newspaper Ads

I tried for some 1969 Clippinger ads Tim but seems little available, do you know if Bob Wingate was your car's salesman?
CA Plate #'s posted in old ads is a really great thing, hopefully it helps bring a few more car's histories to light!
Here's a '77 Auction piece w/ comments by Richard Buxbaum of Classic Motors below also a few more old ads...

Pete thank you for having a look, much appreciated! Not sure about the salesman, car's original owner is still around but couldn't confirm. I've heard that Bob W was the top salesman at Clippinger, and the go-to guy for ordering performance cars, especially 'vettes, so maybe? Seems the car was a dealer stock order rather than a customer order, so someone there knew what options to tick off that would appeal.
Aren't these ads such a great snapshot in time of an era when all that used iron was kicking around for not much $?

So many 427 cars; Corvettes, Camaros and Novas, not to mention a couple '68 Z/28s.
