Tom's old car has held up pretty well. Took first Grand National award over the weekend in Independence, MO.

Sweet looking! Would those have been the tires that came from the factory? What years had GY raised white letter?

Tires are correct for 1970 MY. Nova experts will tell you if a hipo Nova would have had them from the factory.

No white letter tires on '68-'70 Novas, ever.

I haven't seen the judging sheets yet. AACA is not as stringent as NCRS judging. As long as the tires were available at the GM dealer in that model year - you don't get dinged too badly.

My old Nova...
The Red Canadian looks pretty good. This was a dog dish car from the factory, but the 5 spoke magnums look great. When I first saw this car it had the wide oval Firestone tires...so, that was the way we set it up. The correct factory tire would be the E-70/14 wide oval white lines...the only option in 1970.
Congrats on the trophy. -wilma
