Good to see you this past weekend Ryan. And good to finally meet Dan.

those bolts look familiar :-)
I thought you said the driver exhaust mainfold had the heat riser valve. do I need to check my eyes (it's possible)
Tom's 69 special is a STUNNING car. 14K mile car. I'll have my work cut out for me on my W-31, which is currently undergoing a frame off and WILL be raced the the Pure Stock Drags.

looks like your distr may have a green(? or blue?) stripe above the casting number.
those original plug wires are probably junk. Fusick (among many other places) should have 1-Q-69 dated reproductions for you.

Chris,

Great meeting you too

Will your W-31 be ready for this years Pure Stock Drags or in 2017?

What color is your W-31? You and Ryan will be a good side by side race....I have my money on the experience, sorry Ryan

Great to see you too Chris.

Thanks for the bumper bolts, one more item off my "spread sheet of fun"

These manifolds came for California via Chicago, but no heat riser, I disn't ask for it and as far as I know wouldn't use one....... Aren't they for winter start ups?

I will check for markings on my pictures of the distributor.

Do you know how the date codes work? When were my originals made?

Ryan

PS: Chris' W31 is (correct me if I am wrong) North Carolina tar heals blue) Olds translation to follow:-)

Experience.......... Got to get me sum-dat!!!!!!

Glade Green vs. North Carolina Blue this will be a nice photo at the starting line. I see Ryan, improving his times upon every run....and almost catching Chris. It will be a fun day

Ryan -- the heat riser when partially closed will force exhaust gases through the intake manifold (usually under the carb) to provide heat for cold/damp conditions. That will prevent icing of the throttle blades, etc. Down here in south Texas there is probably no need for that mechanism. But in the northern tier states including Canada I would run the heat riser. That will cutdown on how long you may need to warm up the engine before driving. TAZ

A Carolina Blue '69 W-31 may very well be a 1 of 1....as I have never seen another

That is what I thought it did, helpful even on cold mornings? Lots of people throw them away?

Aren't they a significant resistance to exhaust flow?
