$6,000. Probably more for someone with a original ls6 car with no motor but you know that already. Does it have 026 or 990 heads?

It should have 291 heads. I would think a good runner would bring 5k.

$5K is right on the money for a fair price.

Wouldn't a warranty engine be a CE engine?

All the later CRR engines I have had have come out of boats. I'm not saying that is the case with this one but I have had quite a few and they were original to flat bottom fresh water boats. I think a complete crate engine could have also had a CRR code.

The warranty replacement engines which were built and coded as such during the model year had the pad code. Over the counter Crate engines / Chevy Engines with the CE were much more common.

This is why I had thought this engine would have more value. I would think a good running CE 512 4 bolt with 291s and a 1970 date code would be worth $5,000.00.

Thanks for the input.

I suspect a correct coded '1970' block is wirth all the $$. being a 71 block makes it almost equal to a CE... A buddy of mine has an LS-6 and says he would rather have a CE, because a correct over the counter warranty block would be CE..and a 71 CRR probaqbly is from something other than a chevelle.
