Guys, I know Ryan. He works very hard to support the hobby, but some people - disreputable or simply naive - have removed water marks from his efforts.

I don't think he's accusing anyone here of doing this or asking people to stop posting pics online, but merely trying to protect his efforts.

And I don't blame him.

Now that everyone has this new awareness, please don't remove the water mark of any pic you find online - we are not the owners of those pics.

A photographer owns the imagery they shot until they sell it, or give it away. In both instances it's best to make the purchase of imagery a formal transaction with an invoice. Book publishing is 10x more difficult than it was even 5 years ago. Attempting to find a source on a singular, powerful image can be time and financially consuming. A lot of these images are scans out of a book, newspaper or magazine, and as soon as they're applied to the "Net" everyone thinks they're fair game. To an extent they are. Up until you attempt to make money off the image.

I would imagine it would take a bit of work to remove a watermark. Was it possible Ryan that someone scanned the image out of one of your magazine articles?

One more thing. Go on Ebay and type in your favorite car, personality etc... You will find hundreds of images. Many of these sellers have a note to please contact them if you are the owner of the image. What they're doing is taking advantage of that image owner until a cease and desist letter is sent to them. They could have sold that image 5,000 times until you figure out thats whats happening.

Hey Pete cool picture! I know the owner of that car and have seen it up close here in Australia. It's a Holden Monaro, and the color is GMH Sebring Orange, which happens to be identical to Chevy Hugger Orange. Car has a great story behind it's purchase, and the new owner had to cut it out of an overgrown shed and evict a snake. That picture looks to have been taken while being loaded after the liberation! Owner is a die-hard Chev and Pontiac guy and also owns some nice Mopars.

Saw one (rotting musclecar) yesterday. Went to look at some 70-72 4-dr Cutlass parts cars with a friend, and sitting over under a tree was a Rallye 350 2-dr sedan 4-spd car, still wearing the W25 hood and deck spoiler. It was wearing a weathered coat of black paint, but you could see the sebring yellow where the door mirror was removed (and in various other places). Owner claims it is a legit car, but that it wasn't for sale. He didn't want us getting too close to it, so I can't verify the 4-spd part, but that's what he told us. If legit, I'd say a 4-spd 2-dr sedan Rallye is probably a pretty low production car.

Depending on the exact model, could have possibly been 1of 12. Probably worth a follow-up.

That rare? I know of a 4-speed post Rallye sitting a junkyard. Not much left of it. It appears to have been a base model with no window trim. F-85? Is an F-85 Rallye possible?

The guy isn't going to part with it, and the car is pretty rough. Original engine missing - said it has a '66 400. He is one of those guys that thinks he knows what he has, and I get the idea that maybe Barrett-Jackson Syndrome has taken hold.

I have a F-85 Rallye. Bench seat auto though.

Supposedly, just 12 Cutlass S post 4-speed cars were built. 160 Cutlass S post Rallye 350s. Over 1000 f85 Rallye 350 models. This is one of the most confusing areas (even for some Olds people), regarding build numbers. Couldn't get bucket seats in an f85; either post it hardtop. Buckets WERE available in the "S" models both body styles. The "S" had a different seat cover and door panel pattern and carpet. It does get confusing; 1972 is another hard one to figure out...no buckets in a post model.
In my opinion, Rallye 350s never got the interest or "respect" they deserved. They had a great combination of standard items, but most got parted out to build 442s of W-cars.
