A12 cars personify what a true muscle car is about. Big motor, steep gears and no fluff. Lack of any wheel covers and a 'glass lift off hood make them even better. A bucket list car for sure.

Back in 69 I had a subscription to Car & Driver magazine. I remember that they did a road test of sorts on one of the six pack cars by giving it to some 'shine runners to wring out (at least that was the story line). The 'shine runners were suitably impressed. Pretty entertaining stuff.

The A12 was a very well thought out package. Chrysler took the Super Performance/Super Track Pack option and deleted the Power Front Disc Brakes. You got the Dana 60 with 4.10 gears with Sure-Grip, 26" radiator with shroud, dual points distributor and 7 blade torque fan. Then they added the HD 15" wheels from the Hemi. Chrysler used HD 11" drum brakes instead of the puny 9.5" brakes GM used.

The only custom made parts were the fiberglass lift off hood and the Edelbrock 3x2 aluminum intake manifold. The air cleaner assembly came from the ram air cars just with a different base.

All that for 462.80! 4 cogs were standard. The automatic was a skosh more.

That was quick. I knew you were going to sell it, but I thought it might be a little while.

Yep.... but fear not! There could be another (and another thread) around the corner! I enjoy the build too much on these cars to keep them. Maybe one day I'll keep something I do. Ha! Yeah.... right....

Cheers
Dave
