Now 17,200......

Real bidding? Getting to the point where it will not be worth it to restore. Last ones I have seen restored to show quality sell for 35k tops, and at 17k, you will have about that in the car and that's if you do some of the work yourself.....

Either shill bidding or there are at least two guys that really want this car.

Rich

Totally crazy money IMO (but kinda reassuring to see the demand during a traditionally crappy time of year to sell a car)

I wonder about E Bay auctions that take off when the high bidder has zero bid history. They often get relisted because the "high bidder " does not pay.

One of the quirks that I have noticed is that bidder ID's are scrambled from letters and numbers in the actual user ID. But if you click on that bidder's history, you'll see that E Bay scrambles the ID in a different arrangement. So for example, this high bidder has the 9***S in the auction but o***o in bid history. You now have 4 digits of the actual ID. If you have a user ID like mine, you would have 4 of the 5 letters you need to identify my user name.

Vanna, I'd like to buy a vowel....

Up to $18,200,

Belair not sure about the screen name thing, for instance I am the bidder at 7,900 and my screen name is rcmmpern, however on others computers (I looked today after reading your post) I do not show up as r****n, but some random letters.

Now as to your shill bidding point, I agree

Rich

Rich, on my desktop you appear as m***n and if you click on that to see your bid history you then appear as p***r. So those are 4 of the letters in your username. You have 8 letters so harder to figure. But I have only 5 so would be a lot easier. Marc

Cool tip,but it's not 100% accurate.
I looked at auctions I've bid on in the past on a public library computer today, and it doubles up some of the single letters in my ID name in the bid history. There is actually only one of those letters in my entire ID name.
