Does anyone have any experience fitting one of these transmissions into a 1969 Z/28?
Basically swapping out a factory Muncie F-Body car for the DN 5-speed-
Fitment issues? tunnel/floor pan mods? Shifter/console? Crossmember?
I like the idea of the steep 1st gear & run a 3.08 in rear for hi-way cruising.
Thanks for any input.
Jerry

I have one in my car with a 323 gear and thats to much gear a 2;73 would be perfect I think. sits further back by a couple of inches than stock trans. Crossmember had to be modified a little and console moved back

I am almost done installing one in a 68. Requires no floor or console mods if you modify the shifter and shifter mount. The cross member mod is not difficult and requires a Turbo 400 cross member as raw material. All in all pretty straightforward if you can weld and know someone with a mill.

Doug Nash designed the 5-speed to be used with 3.08 gears on the street...

If you go to this web site www.pozziracing.com they go over the shifter and cross member modifications...

I have a blue print from another site for a 1st gen. Camaro shifter mount also...

Hope this helps... Crash

Me and Dan Vasic did a build on my 1979 Z28 and put one of these in it, It was easy as pie.

Dan Vasic maybe you could post the link from yenko with the sub frame and trans installed?

Is this the more friendly street tranny or is it the all out drag race "crashbox" version?
