1967 GTO Ram Air cars
OK Guys, who owns a 67 GTO Ram Air 1 car? I just bought an XS code 4 speed convert. 4.33 gear M21 car. Have a bunch of docs including correspondence from Jim Mattison saying it is one of 56 built and one of 6 PHS knows of today.
Anybody have any info on these or first hand knowledge? Pretty neat car, sounds mean and really cranks with the RA and 4.33 out back... Thanks for any input - just trying to learn more than what I have already read from the usual sources! Colin |

Yes - just showed up tonight. Cool car with great paperwork. It is nice to get a car that shows up nicer than what you were told and expected ! I almost dropped dead from the shock.
I'll take some better pics of my own, but here is one the p/o had on the Ultimate GTO site. Here is the link: http://ultimategto.com/cgi-bin/showc...967/67_00184_1 Colin |

Re: 1967 GTO Ram Air cars
There was an article in a Pontiac magazine a few years back on 67 RA cars. I will have to go look through my collection and find it.

Re: 1967 GTO Ram Air cars
Great looking car.Was this car in Illinois at some point(Joliet,Illinois)? Looks like the one a guy I knew had found by talking to a guy at a parts store one day. Turned out to be a Ram Air car. Can't imagine there would be 2 of them.

Re: 1967 GTO Ram Air cars
Could be the same car, as it was in Illinois at one point. It was written up in High Performance Pontiac magazine in 1991 ,I belive ,when it was "discovered" and verified by Jim McGowan and Jim Mattison as being a legitimate RA 67. As of Oct. 2002 , Jim Mattison emailed the previous owner back and stated that it is 1 of 56 converts built , and one of six accounted for. 1 of 40 67 RA GTO cars in all body styles accounted for to that date as well. I think the total production was 751??
Odds are it is the same car you remember! Colin |
