I know you love BY Chick - your car is WAYYYY ahead of mine though! DY kinda took over the yellow orders in '69. I'm thankful for that since there are only 2 known '69 Camaro BY COPOs that exist. IMO it looks great with the style trim package and spoilers.

With ownership history, notarized statements, vintage pictures, pictures of COPO attributes before restoration, JM certification, NCRS report, etc. - it should be worthy of a nice restoration.

Also interesting - in my research I got statements from some folks who clearly recall the car when it raced in the early 70s. George Nye (York track announcer for many years) clearly remembers it. Marty Feegle (NHRA record holder) recalled the car racing at York. Charley Lord let Rick Sweater (owner and driver) borrow his slicks when Rick ran his best time (10.97) at York. Maybe others on this site recall seeing the car race at York (many times) or Cecil (infrequently)?

Man, I love the racing stories about lending/borrowing slicks. I can't wait to watch this one being restored.

Wish i could remember this car !!! I spent almost every Saturday at York as a little kid 1968-1973 w/my Dad, what i wouldn't give now, to have payed more attention to the cars running than playing with my Hot Wheels in the dirt !!!

I flat out love Butternut Yellow. I'd really like to find a 69 Z in this color.

Neat color. If I could jump in a time machine and go back to order a Copo I'd being giving heavy consideration to Butternut Yellow or Frost Green.
