Default 69 Camaro 12 bolt Carrier Posi

Are all gm 12 bolt posi carriers the same? Are they interchangeable?

Meaning, is a 69 chevelle carrier interchange with camaro?

I have a client who wants to go from his 4:10 gear ratio to a 3:73 ratio.

I'll need to swap out the carrier and ring and pinion and I need to know
what interchanges with what , in other similar GM vehicles.

On a second questions, what would a 3 series carrier posi and ring & pinion cost if
i bought a good used replacement?

Thanks for the advise

Ed, yes ring, pinion and the carrier are the same Chevelle Nova Camaro you can also leave the 4 Series carrier and put the special ring gear for the 373 gears that is designed to be used with the 4-series carrier

X2 as I'm doing that with one of our cars this spring. Makes for a much easier and simpler swap.

All of the Chevy car 12 bolt differentials and gears will swap. The truck 12 bolt is different and the car differential and gears will not swap with the car 12 bolt.

Before you remove any gears or parts be sure that you do a pattern check and measure the backlash. Take pictures of the drive and coast pattern so that you will know how to set the gears when you install them in another housing. You will have to shim the pinion and set the backlash and bearing preload all over again when you swap the parts from one housing to another.

I have a 3 series and want to go 4.10, would like at least the 4.10 gear, but prefer to have 4 series carrier if someone wants the 3 series? I may even settle for a 3.73 R&P. also have an April BV if someone is in need? Hate to rob the pieces out of the BV.

Not to hijack, but need camaro nova axles any brand stock spline count and cheap.
