69 Camaro Heater Delete Plate
I removed what was left of my heater box on my 69 Camaro Stock eliminator and am covering up the large firewall hole with a reproduction delete plate.
The problem, which I am running into, is that the top left hole on the delete plate, as viewed from the engine compartment, lands right in the middle of the upper heater hole piercing. Is that piercing not present, when the heater delete option is specified? I even made a template with both sets of holes, so the delete place would sit exactly where the original heater box would be. I have a few ideas on how to deal with this, but I am sure that some members here have more experience than I. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

<div>There is a problem with the reproduction plates with this hole. Apparantly GM made several plates through the years and the 67-69 Camaro was different. I compared an original 67-69 plate with the reproduction plate and there is a difference. <br></div><div><br></div><div>I made a tracing of a reproduction plate I modified and have attached the image. You can make a countersink hole punch to duplicate the original holes. I Tig welded the original hole and repainted the plates. There were no prepunched holes on the firewall. See the C48 description in the Assembly Manuals. <br></div><div><br></div>
