Default TH400 Build date vs. car assembly date

I have a '67 Camaro 04A build date.

I believe the trans to be original but I am unable to locate the partial VIN on it. I have read that it's not uncommon for some '67 TH400 to not be stamped.

The paint has worn off the tag but it reads as follows:

427 (Julian date=61st day of year...March 2nd)
CC = (Chevrolet/L35 engine) 6? (I'm going to assume it's 67 but the second digit is obscured)

10109= production sequence

My question: Is the trans build date of one month before the car's build date normal?

Thanks for the help.

It depends on a lot of things (line rate, line stoppages due to breakdowns or strikes, etc) but off the top of my head I'd say that one month is entirely appropriate.

I'll be interested to see if any of the guys have more specific data from observed builds for that timeframe and assembly plant.

I've seen 1-2 mos. on other vehicles.
My '70 L-78 Chevelle has it's original TH400 dated October 2nd,while the entire vehicle was assembled Oct. 24th.

I have a small db of '69 Camaro CX dates. The range is 2-7 weeks. Though it is small, the db has 3 pair of identical dates. Cars built 14 days apart had the same trans date so there must have been a minimum order qty.
