Default TastyKake??

For awhile now I have been reading posts regarding Tastykakes. They are evidently a magical food that makes sellers give good deals and buyers spend extra money. Plus, from some of the posts I've read, all it takes to close a deal for some folks is to bring the Tasykakes (or beer, but I digress ).

So being the curious type and not having seen Tastykakes lining the shelves of our local CA markets, I just had to find out WTF is a freakin' Tastykake??.

Evidently not only are they a regional East coast delicacy, (particularly prized in the Philly, PA and surrounding areas), the company also offers seasonal variations of their alluring products .

So, here are a couple of websites to understand more about this Right coast delicacy and maybe place an order (I know I am ) so you, too, may enjoy this mystical confection:

I've never tried any myself but it sounds like we should all have a box of these on hand to sway prospective sellers...sure helps me finally understand why I got beat on a few deals in the past too?!.

I don't think they're available here so is anyone willing to swap for Canadian Bacon or perhaps some of our good Beer?.

Sammy and Benny rarely travel without a sizeable stash of these treats.

And if you ever have the opportunity, have BBBenny tell you about another local treasure; Goods Potato Chips! His description is priceless!

Although I haven't bought any lately, I grew up on a steady diet of butterscotch krimpets There may indeed be a very direct correlation to this phoenomenon and the way I look as an adult. There was a time when you could only get them in this area but I think distribution is much wider now. I don't know if it is actually the case but the word was at one time, TastyKake delivery guys owned their routes and delivery trucks and did pretty well.

Darren started that TastyKake thing with some of the other midwesterners following. We were NOT allowed to come into the Chicago area without them. It was our admission to Vettefest and a couple nites out with the boys and it even helped Benny win all the marbles with that stunning 69 BB nova of his at last years Vettefest. I believe with enough TastyKakes you could have Darren's killer lookin L78 camaro or Stefano's dark blue 1970 SS, BB nova. Its a Philly thing along with cheesesteaks, scrapple, hoagies and the best soft pretzels on earth.
